The Eliminator is a revolutionary farming technology that replaces the receiving can in the dairy shed. It works to provide you with multiple benefits to ensure you are getting maximum milk quality at a lower cost, including:
• Eliminating foaming problems by removing entrained air
• Preventing oscillating vat temperatures
• Enabling milk to be chilled and ready for immediate transport
• Stabilising the vacuum across the milking system
• Reducing fat damage
• Reducing bacterial growth in the vat
• Cooling using efficient chilling systems
• Ability to retrofit to any milking system
High quality milk is one of the most important components of a healthy human diet, however, ensuring the quality of the quality and freshness of the milk places a continual demand on farmers. One of the most efficient and effective ways of ensuring this is cooling the milk to below 7°C as soon as possible after milking. Using the Eliminator system solves this problem by ‘snap cooling’ milk in a vacuum from 36º C (96º F) to 4º C (39º F) within one minute of it leaving the cow, significantly reducing the bacterial growth rates in the fat.
The system is designed to use stored energy for chilling, through chilled water or ice bank technology. The chilling medium is produced during off peak hours, reducing the farm’s peak period electrical consumption. This allows the farmer to take advantage of lower power rates, while increasing the quality of milk from the farm. The amount of energy required to power the vat coolers is also significantly reduced, as these only have to maintain the already cold temperature of the milk. The chilled water system includes recapturing of exhaust heat to provide CIP water at 60 ºC, reducing your farm’s hot water electrical consumption by around 60%.
The Eliminator also eliminates foaming problems by exposing the milk to a vacuum under cooling to remove the air. This has come as a great relief to farmers who frequently face milking system shutdowns and delays due to foaming, particularly during the spring flush.
Additionally, the Eliminator's milk cooling process is very passive and the milk doesn’t get pumped until it is already cold, resulting in 40% less fat damage.
The Eliminator was developed for the dairy industry, but also has applications within other industries where the rapid cooling of liquids is critical to the quality of the product such as the brewing industry, the wine industry, and the fruit juice industry.
